Both the Honeywell Posi3 USB and the updated Posichek3 to USB flow tester are approved SCBA flow test devices for functionally testing SCBA. Passing NFPA or NIOSH SCBA functional tests, using branded NFPA software or generic NIOSH software. Honeywell Analytics manufactures the approved Posi3 USB models.

Per NIOSH & NFPA mandates, all SCBA are to be flow tested annually to maintain these respective approvals.

Notice - DEADLINE PASSED for Upgrading PosiChek3 units to USB

PosiCheck³ tester models can no longer be upgraded; those with parallel printer ports have become obsolete as of 1/1/2017. A new Posi3 USB complete unit must be purchased to replace the now obsolete PosiChek3 parallel port model.

We sell both the Posi 3 USB units and the branded NFPA software for MSA flow tests, Avon/ISI flow tests, Interspiro flow tests, Draeger flow tests and Honeywell/Survivair flow tests. Software for Scott Safety SCBA must be purchased from Scott. However, we sell Posi3 USB units to both Scott distributors and other SCBA brand end users.

Easy and Automatic SCBA Flow Testing

Just attach the fully-assembled SCBA to be tested to the Posi3 test-head and choose the tests you wish to conduct. The Posi3 USB "Quick Test" fully evaluates the operational readiness of an SCBA in less than 2 minutes and consumes less than 1% of the SCBA's air supply. Full tests take longer and provides the testing results to be printed immediately or saved in a user-specified database for retrieval in the future. The Posi3 USB makes record-keeping easy! Software database allows storing of cylinder hydro-static test dates, end of service dates and in service dates.

MSA Sound Detection System (SDS) Model

MSA OEM software requires sound detection (SDS) to functionally test their SCBA properly. SDS is not required by other SCBA brands. Posi3 USB part numbers for SDS testing compatibilty are listed below.
 

The Posi 3 USB models use your own IBM-compatible PC to run the tests and store the results. Test results can be printed at the time of the test or retrieved from the user-specified database at any time in the future. The minimum PC requirements for the 32-bit PosiChek³ Software are as follows:

New USB port software is available for older PosiChek³ flow testers updated to USB compatibility.
