PopCan™ Stations are one step up from having no operator protection when refilling SCBA cylinders. Our PopCan carries an informal Class 4 rating. The primary function of the tube serves to hold round bottom cylinders in the upright position for added ease of air refilling. Sometimes referred to as Frag Deflectors, Frag Chambers or Fragmentation Chambers, these stations "may" provide a small measure of protection for the air refill operator, when refilling high pressure breathing air cylinders. CAUTION: The primary use of these PopCan products are to hold cylinders in the upright position. By their design, they may provide some meaure of added operator protection over having nothing. These products may help direct some of the blast of a ruptured cylinder upwards, as opposed to outward. This product will neither stop cylinder fragments nor the air blast of a ruptured cylinder. Do not install directly below or above an occupied area. For added operator safety, the operator should never lean over nor reach over the container during the filling process. Units should only be installed vertically. Cylinder refilling carries inherent dangers. Proper refill training is required. |
